Elementa shortlisted for 2 Building Awards: Engineering Consultant of the Year and the Net Zero Award

Elementa Consulting are delighted to have been nominated for Engineering Consultant of the Year and the Net Zero Award at this year’s Building Awards, which recognise and celebrate the very best of UK construction.

Elementa’s work at the world’s first whole-life net-zero hotel, Room2 in Chiswick has been recognised for the Net Zero Award. The new build hotel, which opened its doors to the public in December 2021, features 86 rooms powered by solar panels and ground source heat pumps, with interior fit-outs made locally from FSC-certified timber. As MEP and Carbon consultants, Elementa helped Lamington Group write their Net Zero Buildings Specification and supported their development of a Net Zero Carbon Roadmap.

Engineering Consultant of the Year nomination is borne from demonstrating our embedded commitment to sustainability through involvement in pushing industry standards, these include UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, London Mayor’s Good Growth by Design programme and authoring the CIBSE-funded embodied carbon research “TM65” series.

Speaking on the shortlisting, Brian Goldsmith, Regional Director UK and Europe stated ‘’To be nominated for these awards reflects the hard work, passion and commitment that is put into our projects and initiatives. Driving decarbonisation and commitment to continually improve the industry does not go unnoticed as we continue to design buildings that deliver optimum performance.’’

The award winners will be announced on 1st November at the Grosvenor House Hotel. Good luck to all the nominees.
