Retrofit Revolution – delivering energy efficiency in Science Parks

Sustainability and Lab design specialists Clara and Rui will discuss key considerations and drivers for low energy retrofit. The will showcase relevant metrics in understanding net zero and how to approach design of research and science facilities in our line with our climate targets.

Clara is a chartered engineer specialising in mechanical, environmental analysis and sustainability consulting. In 2017, Clara founded London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI), a voluntary group that has engaged over 1000 industry professionals and published guidance on implementing zero carbon across the built environment. She is the lead editor of the LETI Climate Emergency Design Guide, which has been downloaded over 60,000 times and currently being implemented in over 30,000 homes and over 1,000,000m2 of commercial floor space. She is also one of the 50 Mayor of London’s Design Advocates for Good Growth and has been part of the technical working group for the WGBC’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment Programme.

Rui has worked with some of the biggest and leading names in Life Sciences, R&D facilities and laboratories including manufacturing and secondary production facilities.
