Morgan Hill Aquatics Complex

Designed with integrated green building concepts, this is the first aquatics complex certified LEED Silver as rated by the Untied States Green Building Council (USGBC). The energy efficient design includes optimized energy performance for HVAC and lighting, passive ventilation for summertime cooing of the locker and shower area, and 57% reduction of water use for site irrigation. In addition, recycled content building materials were used, and low VOC-emitting materials with improved Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) performance were specified.

The project received a Citation in the Savings by Design Energy Efficiency Integration Awards from the AIA California Council and California’s four largest utility companies. “The sensitivity to the environment aspects is a model of what today’s projects should aspire to.” – Jury comment, Innovative Architecture and Design Award, Recreation Management Magazine.
