George Mason University Exploratory Hall Science

The Exploratory Hall Science Building is located on the Fairfax campus. The existing 5-story building will be renovated and updated to accommodate College of Science academic departments, computational and dry laboratories, and university classrooms.

Integral Group provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for the existing 100,600-square-foot 5-story building Science + Technology II building and a new addition of 55,000-square-feet for the College of Science (COS). The 55,000-square-foot addition will mainly house class laboratories for the Biology, Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Earth Sciences as well as the Environmental Science and Policy Departments. The building is designed using innovative, sustainable design strategies to achieve a 50% reduction in energy usage. The new Exploratory Hall Science Building will include a new rooftop greenhouse while the remaining green roof will be used for educational and environmental purposes.
