Royal Marsden

As part of the framework commissions for the Royal Marsden we have worked as Contract Administrators, Cost Controllers and Design Engineers on a number of capital works projects within the Royal Marsden Hospital. Given the nature of the building all projects were implemented in a live hospital environment where critical care was been given to the patients. All projects undertaken had to have a minimal impact on the operation of the Hospital and with as little disruption as possible caused to the patients receiving care.

Two of the more recent projects undertaken at the Hospital was the site wide upgrade of the existing fire alarm installation to give an L1 level of coverage throughout to enable the hospital operate a phased evacuation protocol and the LV resilience upgrade works encompassing an initial feasibility study on the existing installed generator sets to tie in with the larger HV upgrade works being implemented at the hospital.

Royal Marsden which is a world-leading cancer centre specialising in diagnosis, treatment, care, education and research. All works planned and undertaken within operational constraints thus enabling the hospital to function fully whilst major improvements were implemented to the fire alarm provision.
