Introba provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the Livermore Civic Center Meeting Hall in Livermore, CA United States.

The new Livermore Civic Center Meeting Hall uses natural ventilation when outside temperatures permit, and it has a cool tower to incorporate passive cooling strategies. The cool tower captures wind for ventilation and uses a spray ring to provide evaporative cooling by misting the air. The resulting cool, dense air naturally descends into the lobby spaces and adjacent meeting rooms to condition the building’s interior. The cool tower can also execute nighttime flushes by opening its damper to cool the building mass overnight. The new facility also has a mechanical system, which quietly heats and cools the building when natural ventilation is not viable.

Livermore Civic Center Meeting Hall replaced the thirty-year-old building in which the council previously resided. The facility includes a 124-seat council chamber in an amphitheater-style layout and a 1,100 ft² library spanning the width of the building. There is also a flexible meeting space for a new Emergency Operations Center, used as a single meeting room with 80 seats or two smaller meeting rooms.
