Lions Park Library + Community Center

Lions Park Library

The City of Costa Mesa is undertaking a major upgrade and retrofit of the existing library and park located in the Westside neighborhood, not far from Newport Beach. A new 22,000 square foot library will be built on the grounds which also include a City-owned park. Once the new library is complete, the existing 7,892 square foot library will be renovated to become a community center. The new library and community center will be able to provide the community of 55,000 residents with modern programming and space, which the current library is unable to do adequately due to its small size. The new library includes space for a larger book collection, dedicated space for kids and teens, and modern technologies.

The park will be expanded from 2.8 acres to 3.8 acres. Residents of Costa Mesa believe that this upgraded complex will enhance their downtown area and promote the growth of Costa Mesa as a whole.

Integral Group is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, LEED and modeling design services for this retrofit. The library and community center buildings are targeting LEED Gold and LEED Silver, respectively.
