City of Oakland Data Center

This city police and fire department emergency communications data center required a major upgrade of its HVAC and electrical systems. Some of the design parameters and challenges in the project were: protection of emergency power, incorporation of redundancy, structural issues with the building, tight schedule to accommodate a scheduled installation of new servers. Integral Group’s solution involved retrofitting many components of the system to require less energy, and designing an air handling system to take advantage of the cooling potential of outside air for two thirds of the year.
