AUSTRALIAN SYNCHROTRON | BR-GHT NANOPROBE BEAMLINE

Stage 2 of the new beamlines project in the Australian Synchrotron, known as BR-GHT, features the nanoprobe beamline. Integral Group provided mechanicalelectrical, hydraulic, and fire protection services for the Nanoprobe Satellite Building.integralgroup.com

The building will accommodate the end station hutch, which houses scientific instruments featuring elemental mapping at the nanometer level and a beamline tunnel that transfers the light source 100m apart from the main building. It will also include a physical containment Level 2 (PC2) bio-laboratory along with wet and dry laboratories, mechanical staging area, beamline control room, staff amenities.

A particularly challenging element of the design is the radiation-shielded endstation hutch. High environmental temperature and motion stability are required to achieve experimental resolution and address equipment’s susceptibility to environmental perturbation. HVAC included in the Nanoprobe Satellite building considers the impact of vibration and stability, keeping the temperature at the stability of 0.1˚C peak-peak at all times while achieving VC-F vibration criteria.

Integral Group is excited to be continuing a ten-year relationship with ANSTO and the Australian Synchrotron facility with another complex project on the site.
