Understanding the approach behind one of London’s largest hotel refurbishments - Strand Palace Hotel featured in this month’s CIBSE Journal
Introba (formerly Elementa Consulting)’s work at the Strand Palace Hotel has been featured in this month’s CIBSE Journal, exploring the project’s approach to a phased refurbishment using Hybrid VRF system for cooling and heating of the 785 bedrooms. The landmark hotel in London’s busy West End posed challenges including maintaining the majority of the hotel rooms for occupation, ventilation in one of London’s most polluted areas and ensuring increased efficiency within the selected services. Ted Connell, leading mechanical engineer at the development, explains the reasoning behind the decision to select the hybrid VRF system alongside commentary from Mitsubishi Electric who supplied the selected technology.
The project, scheduled for completion in 2020, is set to be Europe’s largest hybrid VRF installation whilst calculated carbon emissions will be three times lower than the existing gas boiler system. Click here to read the full article.
