Melanie Ross Receives Several Prestigious Appointments

Integral Group Associate, Melanie Ross in the Calgary office has been appointed to several prestigious positions. Melanie has been selected as Chair of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC), Alberta Chapter, member of the CaGBC Materials Technical Advisory Group (TAG), and Director on the Board for Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation.

These achievements were borne out of the dedication, passion, and time Melanie has invested into her work and advocacy for greener, more accessible, affordable buildings. Her new roles will provide her with further leverage in implementing change in building policy. Melanie has had steady involvement with the CaGBC throughout her career. Her former roles as CaGBC reviewer and CaGBC faculty member have intimately familiarized her with the LEED and WELL Building programs, making her the ideal candidate for her two new CaGBC roles.

The Alberta CaGBC Chapter is the second largest in Canada with an active board of twelve members, EGP Directors and two full-time staff. Melanie will lead the strategic direction of the chapter, with a focus on strengthening the CaGBC’s leadership within the province and ensuring the continued growth of the chapter and industry.

As part of the Materials TAG, she will share her experiences while learning from the experience of others as they relate to sustainable materials procurement and management, influencing and upholding best practices and policies within the LEED rating system.

Sitting as a current Director of the Board for Attainable Homes Calgary Association, Melanie was sought by the board to provide sustainability expertise to the program. A corporation of the City of Calgary, the mayor and a city councilor sit on the board, and the mandate of the organization is to provide quality, affordable, accessible, and sustainable housing to citizens who could not otherwise attain it.

”I’ve always been drawn to doing good; I’m thrilled to be able to merge my professional career with a mandate to influence and effect positive change in all that I do, especially in the areas of sustainability and accessibility. Being a part of Integral Group allows me to grow in this direction and contribute to the company’s mandate at the same time – I am very lucky to be supported by such a forward thinking organization! I hope to continue to build on the efforts of my predecessors, work with and learn from amazing industry colleagues, and leave a legacy of continued growth for future leaders.”

With over ten years of industry presence, Melanie Ross serves as a Sustainability Associate for Integral Group’s Calgary office. She leads a team of sustainability professionals dedicated to improving health and human experiences through accessible, green designs.
