LEED Platinum Innovation in Vancouver

The Exchange tower located at Howe and Pender Street in Vancouver, BC is on track to being a LEED Platinum high rise office tower in BC. Developed by Credit Suisse of Switzerland, the building illustrates a high level of innovation by being the first skyscraper in Canada to be encased in a triple glazed curtain wall.

The curtain wall uses a graduated ceramic coating on the windows that will decrease the 400,000 sq. ft. tower’s solar gain by 83%. The Exchange will also showcase sustainable features such as on-site water treatment, high efficiency HVAC and an energy consumption rate at half that of similar towers.

In addition to the new tower, the existing 1929 Old Stock Exchange building will also be renovated to form part of the development. It will be the first LEED Platinum heritage conversion in Canada.

Integral Group is providing mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project, designed by Harry Gugger Studio, Basel, Switzerland, in association with Iredale Group Architecture.
