Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Hills Awarded Best Medical Project by Los Angeles Business Journal

Kaiser Permanente in Baldwin Hills received Los Angeles Business Journal’s Commercial Real Estate award for Best Medical Project. The 23rd annual awards event took place in downtown Los Angeles. This award recognizes projects that are positively contributing to the built environment and the growing Los Angeles urban area. It honors designs that foster health and well-being in the workplace.

This 105,000 ft² LEED Platinum-certified building is one of the most leading edge medical facilities and incorporates Re-imaging Ambulatory Design (RAD) and CULTIVATE initiatives into the design. Both of these strategies aim to create a culture of health improvement and community as a key element in Kaiser Permanente service delivery infrastructure.

The four-story building includes sustainable design features like solar panels in various locations including the parking lots and central plaza, natural ventilation, a photovoltaic canopy as part of an architectural rooftop feature, green rooftop areas, as well as exterior walls featuring rain screen designs and spandrel glazing. Integral Group provided schematic design for this project.
