Integral Group Celebrates International Women's Day
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration day focusing on women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements with a call to action for accelerating gender equality. The first International Women’s Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD is a day of advocacy featuring global campaigns and events rallying for women’s equality. IWD is not exclusive to one country, group, or organization — it is a truly global celebration. The 2022 theme for International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias.
Integral Group honors International Women’s Day 2022 by continuing to report on current gender diversity and equity metrics against its 2030 gender parity targets and celebrating womxn thought leadership around the world. Over the past year, the firm has also refocused its diversity strategy through employee engagement in its new employee resource groups, which will lead its first-ever internal panel discussion on unconscious bias. Read more below on each of these areas:
TRACKING GENDER DIVERSITY + EQUITY
Overall gender distribution and gender distribution of technical staff continued to increase year-on-year, across every operating region, with the most significant improvement being in Australia, where the representation of women in the firm increased by 6.9%.
In 2022, the firm continues to focus on improving gender representation in leadership roles, particularly at the associate and associate principal levels, to continue strengthening the talent pipeline for future womxn leaders.
NURTURING EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS
2021 saw the launch of four Employee Resource Groups (ERGs):
- Womxn | focuses on increasing the representation of womxn at all seniority levels
- LGBTQIA+ | creates a safe and supportive environment for our LGBTQIA+-identifying employees
- BIPOC | elevates the voices of employees who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
- Mental Health | breaks the stigma around mental health
The ERGs are open to all employees, voluntary and employee-led, focusing on fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging, helping staff build stronger internal and external connections, and offering development opportunities for our future leaders.
DISCUSSING UNCONSCIOUS BIAS
In celebration of IWD, the Womxn ERG is hosting an employee-only panel discussion on the theme #BreaktheBias. Developed and organized by womxn of the firm, the event will feature only womxn speakers. In 2020, Integral Group launched unconscious bias training globally, and this panel continues the internal dialogue around that subject. The event will also showcase the existing wealth of female talent the firm has attracted and continues to nurture.
