Wednesday, June 6, 2018 | 4:15pm – 5:15pm | Room 206 D

Light – it is referred to as the fourth dimension of architecture, an unseen medium which impacts space dramatically. Recently, researchers have studied this medium and its impact on human health more in depth. As a result, sustainable lighting design solutions have gone beyond energy efficiency, codes and standards. This presentation discusses how exposure to daylight and electric light can impact human health. It describes various ways that quality lighting design embraces light as an active and tangible building material to create a user-centric space. It explains the relationship between innovative light planning solutions and achieving high indoor environmental quality credit based in LEED vv44 for human well-being and comfort.

This session is eligible for 1.0 GBCI CE hour.
