| Elementa Consulting as an integral part of Mansell/Balfour Beatty’s has been appointed by Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, to the £12m refurbishment of the existing A&E Department at Basildon General Hospital in order to bring the department up to date and provide revised clinical service delivery. Accident &Emergency services are to be maintained during refurbishment resulting in over 13 phases over an 18 month period.

| Work involves a second floor addition to the casualty department, a series of improvements to the neighbouring fracture clinic, new X-ray area, upgraded reception area and a new drop-off bay outside the entrance, the main entrance to the A&E will also be repositioned to face the multi-storey car park.
It is expected work will begin by the end of the year on the new-look A&E. |
